Integrated Openings & Access Control for a More Secure Campus
The University of Central Missouri serves more than 11,000 students across its historic campus. When UCM set out to modernize and unify its security infrastructure, IOS Kansas City stepped in as a partner capable of coordinating both openings and access control across multiple buildings.
Coordinated Solutions Across a Large Campus
The project required a significant mix of hardware and technology, including:
- Over 320 hardwired openings
- 80 operators
- 200 wireless locksets
- Touchless wave switches for all operators
- Mobile credential integrations
- Integrated access control and security cameras
A Partner to Campus Security
IOS worked closely with UCM’s campus security team to align door hardware, operators, access control, and camera systems so they functioned as a unified whole. This collaboration helped the university strengthen daily operations and improve overall system reliability.
Since the project’s completion, UCM has continued to rely on IOS for ongoing maintenance, service, and repair across campus openings, selecting IOS as a long‑term partner for campus security solutions rather than a one‑time vendor.
Strengthening a Defensible Campus
With upgraded openings, integrated access control, and consistent system coordination, UCM now benefits from:
- More reliable and consistent access control
- Better alignment between physical hardware and digital systems
- A single partner supporting maintenance and future upgrades
IOS’s experience with schools and universities helped ensure the solutions fit the daily realities of a busy campus while supporting long‑term security goals.
